Of course it may be possible for an insurance broker to fake these testimonials but you can usually tell if this is the case by the content – be suspicious if it is overly flattering.

• If you have a bad feeling about the person selling you insurance then you may be best to trust this. It is a mistake to just ignore this intuition and a lot of people who later regret their decision will claim to have felt that something wasn’t quite right. Just because you can’t fully explain you bad felling doesn’t mean that it is not important.

• If you have any reason to think that an insurance broker is lying to you end the conversation. If they need to lie about the insurance policy then it can’t be a very good one. If the broker can’t be trusted you won’t want to be doing any business with them.

• If you are looking for insurance brokers online be careful; this is where you will find many rogue brokers. Always check the reputation of any company they represent and don’t sign with them until you are sure of their credentials. Take the usual precautions if you are going to be supplying your details online.
