Dr. David K.P. Li is currently a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council and Chairman and Chief Executive of the Bank of East Asia - one of Hong Kong's oldest banking institutions.

A well respected businessman and public servant, Dr. Li sits on several international advisory committees, including the International Advisory Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His numerous company directorships include Affin Holdings Berhad, COSCO Pacific Ltd, Guangdong Investment Limited, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, Munich Re Service Ltd (Chairman), PCCW and the SCMP Group.

As well as his numerous business and public service interests, Dr. Li is a renowned patron of the arts and charitable foundations. He is Chairman of the Council and Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association, Life Patron of the Hong Kong Ballet, Vice Chairman of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Chairman of INSEAD East Asia Council and a member of the Board of Directors of the Pacific Bankers Management Institute.

A graduate of Cambridge University, Dr. Li holds a MA in Economics and Law and was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws by the University in 1993. Dr. Li has also had Honorary degrees conferred upon him by Warwick University, Lingnan College Hong Kong, Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, Napier University and Imperial College London.

Dr. Li is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Dr. Li is married and has two adult sons.
