Dr. Syed Musa ALHABSHI Division Director - Prudential International Institute of Islamic Finance, Malaysia

Dr. Syed is currently Principal Consultant with the International Institute of Islamic Finance, Malaysia. An acknowledged expert of Islamic Finance within banking, he had been active in advising on prudential standards for the Islamic Financial Services Board and was also a member of both the Accounting Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions. In Malaysia he is actively involved with the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board working committees.

Prior to his move into consulting and training, Dr. Syed was a distinguished academic in Malaysia with teaching and research in the United Kingdom. As Dean of Tun Abdul Razak University's Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Syed taught a variety of courses focusing on Islamic accounting, auditing and banking.

A well-known speaker on the Islamic banking conference circuit, Dr. Syed is a prolific author of research papers for academic journals published both regionally and globally. A first class honors graduate of Malaysia's International Islamic University, Dr. Syed was awarded his DBA in Accounting and Finance by Strathclyde University, Scotland, where he also worked as a teaching fellow. Recently he has designed and developed for CIMA (UK) Certificate of Islamic Finance modules.
